• We’ve developed our own global infrastructure, including direct integrations with local payment systems. This gives our customers faster transactions, lower fees, and greater control over how money moves across borders.
• Our API-first platform enables automation across payments, treasury, FX, and multi-currency accounts – removing the need for manual workarounds that legacy systems require.

How long have you been in operation, and are there any notable achievements you’d like to highlight?

• Proudly founded in Melbourne in 2015, Airwallex is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, with over 1,700 people globally, across 37 locations.
• We have grown to service over 150,000 businesses globally and are trusted by brands such as Qantas, SHEIN, Casetify, SleekFlow, Slowood, and many more.
• We also achieved significant milestones, including launching a multi-year partnership with McLaren Racing in 2024, which underscores our commitment to innovation and ignites our growth trajectory as we continue to scale globally.

Any interesting trivia about your company culture, founding story, or mission?

If you haven't heard our founding story, Airwallex actually began in 2015 when our co-founders ran a coffee shop in Melbourne, Australia. As small business owners themselves, they recognised first-hand the impact of high FX and banking fees on their profit margins. That’s when they saw a gap in the global financial system and came up with the idea of starting Airwallex.
